Transcontinental Mirazed is seeking a Production Director to oversee all production operations. Reporting to the Plant General Manager, you will play a key role in operational performance, quality, safety, and team development.
This is a day shift position, requiring occasional flexibility to support evening operations. You will manage 4 supervisors and approximately 100 employees.

 

 

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

 

Planning & Operations
  • Plan, organize, and oversee all production and maintenance activities.
  • Optimize the use of labor, equipment, and raw materials.
  • Ensure production flow aligns with priorities, capacity, and schedules.
  • Monitor KPIs, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure production methods meet quality standards and intervene when non conformities occur.
  • Deploy and monitor continuous improvement initiatives.
 
Cost & Budget Management
  • Rigorously manage production costs and assigned budgets.
  • Oversee overtime hours based on operational needs.
  • Analyze and communicate financial variances in collaboration with the finance team.
  • Approve purchases and optimize resource utilization.
 
Leadership & Talent Management
  • Lead, motivate, and develop supervisors and production teams.
  • Clearly communicate expectations, directives, and customer requirements.
  • Support employees facing operational or organizational challenges.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
 
Equipment & Maintenance
  • Ensure adherence to the preventive maintenance plan.
  • Guarantee the operational availability of equipment.
 
Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirements (ISO 9001).
  • Validate the technical feasibility of work and timelines.
  • Ensure procedures are followed and operational documentation is up to date.
  • Document and resolve non conformities, ensuring proper follow up.
 
Health, Safety & Well Being
  • Integrate recommendations from the Health & Safety Committee (SST).
  • Maintain a safe and compliant work environment
  • Raise awareness among employees regarding risks, procedures, and best practices.

 

Qualifications

When your expertise drives us:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a production environment.
  • Experience or knowledge in Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma and/or continuous improvement (certification is an asset).
  • Strong experience managing teams (supervisors + large operational teams).
  • Mobilizing leadership, clear communication, and strong change management abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills, problem solving capabilities, and sound decision making.
  • Excellent spoken and written proficiency in French.
