We are currently looking for a CGI Artist for our Mississauga location (hybrid position). You will be responsible for designing and producing high-quality digital imagery and animations using 2D and 3D software tools. You will collaborate with creative teams to bring concepts to life, often working on character modeling, environment creation, visual effects (VFX), and motion graphics. This role requires strong artistic skills, and an understanding of lighting, texture, and composition to achieve realistic or stylized visuals.

 

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

  • Design and create high-quality digital 3D models of characters, objects, environments, and other assets.
  • Develop and animate sequences for characters, objects, and camera movements to support various project needs.
  • Perform image editing and enhancement including retouching, colour correction, material adjustments, and Photoshop work for internal graphics and Marketing needs.
  • Set up and refine lighting and rendering to establish desired moods and produce polished, high-resolution visuals.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to translate concepts into compelling visuals, effectively communicating product features and benefits through layout, propping, lighting, and CAD modelling.
  • Review and refine assets to ensure technical accuracy, brand consistency, and stakeholder approvals prior to release.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during all stages of the production process.
  • Manage digital asset workflows, including archiving processes, maintaining an organized image library, and ensuring the most recent assets are uploaded to the digital server.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in CGI, post-production, animation, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience
  • Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software (e.g., Maya, Blender, Houdini, Substance, 3DMax)
  • A keen eye for visual aesthetics, composition, and attention to detail
  • Experience in photography, videography, graphic design, or UX design is considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
  • Strong creative thinking and concept development skills
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines consistently
