Reporting to Manager, Software Development, you will be working on a transformational brand-new high business impact platform. Successful candidate will work hand in hand with our other developers on developing new features, fixing bugs, implementing change requests, performance optimizations and supporting the platform. Collaboration with project stakeholders, project managers, QAs, POs, UI/UX designers and other team members will be required as well. Remote work mode.

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

 

  • Develop and maintain our web applications using React and other JS based frameworks.
  • Collaborate with our team of designers, product managers, and engineers to develop new products, features and improve existing products.
  • Liaise with architects, Leads, QA, Business Analysts, and Project Managers to define software requirements; and to assess feasibility of solution within time constraints.
  • Ensure the highest level of performance and user experience for our web applications.
  • Own and be accountable for your work.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while monitoring and improving the overall systems health.
  • Write code that is clean, tested, maintainable, and efficient; encourage others to do so via meaningful code reviews.
  • Follow industry standards in application development, secure coding, and testing.
  • Work with your team and other teams to integrate our web applications with third-party services and APIs.
  • Lead initiatives and actively share ideas with your team.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to our engineering culture and best practices.

Qualifications

When your expertise drives us:

 

  • Degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4-6 years’ experience and strong knowledge in programming with languages such as: React, JavaScript, VUE.js, Angular, HTML, CSS, Typescript
  • Understanding of UX/UI frameworks and languages
  • Familiarity with cloud services such as GCP, Azure, or AWS
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Advanced understanding of responsive web design
  • Experience with cross-platform development and platform specific compatibility optimizations
  • Understanding of different web browser limitations, differences, and workarounds is a must
  • Advanced understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
  • Working knowledge with XML/XSLT/XSD/JSON
  • Good understanding of software security; CORS, tokens
  • Experience with Azure cloud development, particularly Azure App Services, and API Apps
  • Good understanding of Microservice development
  • An extreme ownership mentality
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Bilingual in English & French a strong asset
