Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

 

• Manage the full cycle recruitment process for internal and external positions including; creating job postings, screening resumes, scheduling and participation in interviews, facilitation of background and reference checks, drafting of employment offers and new hire forms;
• Lead all administrative, transactional, and data/records management activities in support of HR, including processing life-cycle transactions such as onboarding, status, position and compensation changes, all terminations - voluntary and involuntary, to include all types of contractors, employees co-op program offboarding.
• Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy and completeness in HR systems.
• Prepare HR-related paperwork in support of the employee life cycle including letters and agreements.
• Communicate with employees on benefit related subjects such as benefit enrolment, STD, LTD, and other approved leaves of absences;
• Update and maintain several HR process trackers/files to ensure that data is timely and accurate;
• Run monthly and ad hoc reports through the HRIS system and Excel;
• Support daily HR activities and assist in creating and improving HR policies, helping to map processes and procedures, implement policies and guidelines, and leverage key metrics and KPI's to drive effective process improvement activities.
• Support the consistent and efficient administration of core HR programs, such as temporary remote work, managing visa expirations, employee probation periods, relocation activity, etc., by managing and recommending improvements to tools, templates, process documentation, and policies, including the ongoing reporting of business-focused HR metrics and data, data audits and year-end activities.
• Provide ongoing general support and guidance to employees and leaders on HR programs, practices, policies, legislation, employment laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Work autonomously with HR Advisor, HR Manager and hiring managers by assisting with the full-cycle recruitment process.
• Complete general administrative duties such as data entry and filing.
• Handle employee requests and inquiries regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations.
• Support the annual employee performance reviews, working closely with the HR and management team.
• Take part in and/or initiate any HR projects or programs as required.
• Assist HR Manager with the onboarding of new hires and conduct initial orientation.
• Assist HR Manager with arranging and conducting exit interviews when necessary and support the termination process to ensure a smooth transition.
• Maintain and update all employee information with ethicality and confidentiality in mind.

 

 

 

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a Human Resources Generalist role
• Hands on experience with HR platforms such as PeopleSoft & Kronos is an asset!
• Tech savvy & proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must;
• Ability to multi-task in a time sensitive and fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to take ownership of tasks
• Team player and problem solver, with a positive attitude
• Ability to exercise tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Experience with social media platform (Instagram) is an asset
