We are looking for a Controller, Financial Operations who will manage a team of two Finance Operation Supervisors (including five indirect reports) dedicated to the accounting of our Premedia operations. The incumbent will report to the Head of Financial Operations, Ontario, and will play a key role in supporting the Ontario business entities/plants, various continuous improvement projects, control efficiency, and team development. These responsibilities will involve collaboration with several teams, such as the various corporate departments as well as Finance Business Partners and the operations of the entities under their governance.

The position is located at 5255 Satellite Drive, Mississauga, ON L4W 5E3 and offers the possibility of hybrid work (home and office).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure service efficiency and provide direction to the team under their responsibility while aligning with the company's objectives.
  • Provide quality accounting expertise to internal collaborators in operations and sales.
  • Supervise monthly, quarterly, and annual closings of business units.
  • Review and optimize various monthly analyses (balance sheet analysis, billing, costing, project cost tracking) and ensure quality and compliance with key controls for regulation 52-109.
  • Provide required assistance for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate in the development or improvement of IT tools and/or optimization, and integration of accounting systems.
  • Participate in and propose continuous improvement projects in accounting activities.
  • Collaborate with various financial teams (AP, AR, business partners, corporate, tax) and operational teams.
  • Ensure optimal management of the team under their responsibility.

Qualifications

When your expertise drives us:

 

  • CPA accounting title (required).
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience, including 3 years in management position.
  • Recognized for leadership, teamwork, and results orientation.
  • Good communicator, easily adapting to changes and seeking to improve processes while achieving set objectives.
  • Autonomous and proactive, with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use manufacturing and financial software.
  • Proficient in Excel.
