We are currently looking for a Graphic Designer for our Mississauga location. The Graphic Designer creates effective and aesthetically pleasing visual communications that capture the attention of the audience and communicates the right message. They have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate briefs/requirements efficiently while working with a team.

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

 

  • Conceptualize and design visuals based on brief/requirements for print, social/digital and other channels.
  • Support in the creation of presentation materials and marketing materials and collaborates with creative/project team members.
  • Seek feedback and revises or provide alternative solutions to deliver high quality design deliverables
  • Keep current on TC brand standards and competently answer TC brand related questions.
  • Able to present work to client, explain rationale and steps required to produce work (occasional client presentations on small value projects where required).
  • Apprise manager of project progress as warranted; responsible for securing Manager’s feedback and approval.
  • Seek guidance from Senior Creatives when needed.
  • Assist in Estimating for assigned Creative Projects.          
  • Estimate creative time required for projects based on brief/requirements.
  • Perform creative pre-flight on files to ensure quality and consistency are met before internal hand-off /delivery.           
  • Stay current on industry standards and trends, acquiring the required skills to work on print, digital, social and other creative deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma from a post-secondary Graphic Design program      
  • 4+ years of industry experience working as a Graphic Designer
  • Solid pre-press print production, typography, colour theory and graphic design skills
  • Good understanding of web/digital/social design, accessibility and usability best practices
  • Good understanding of industry standard production workflows
  • Good understanding of multi-channel marketing
  • Experience in approaching relationships in a positive manner with internal stakeholders
  • Sketching skills – able to efficiently produce sketches for storyboards, layouts, etc.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), MS office
  • Able to efficiently work on 2+ projects simultaneously
  • Conceptualization skills
  • An eye for style, photography, and design
  • Good Communicator, Collaborative,  and solution oriented
  • Comfortable taking direction and able to work independently
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to perform under pressure
  • Good time-management, organized and detail oriented, able to set priorities
  • Commercial understanding and sensitivity to the profitability of projects
